District Meeting
The primary focus of the Great Lakes Region in its initial years has been in the Chicago area. In an effort to increase the awareness of and interest in design-build and facilitate member involvement in the other areas of our four-state region, a primary goal is the development of district chapters.

Legislation
The State of Illinios passed SB 0766 which creates the Design-Build Procurement Act and authorizes the Capital Development Board to award construction contracts using a design-build method that accepts and evaluates proposals from entities that encompasses the designing and building of the project. Establishes criteria and proceedings for the use of the design-build method. Effective immediately.
DBIA Designation Program
The Chapter provides the three core courses for the DBIA Designation Program. Members who are registered with the Designation Program receive credit for attending the quarterly chapter presentations on Design-Build.
